High Contrast filter no longer working in Feedback studio

Hi everyone,

I'm working with an academic who has been using the High Contrast filter in Windows to access the Turnitin Feedback studio. Suddenly this has stopped working and they can no longer read or provide intext comments on student papers anymore. We have logged a request with Turnitin but there appears to be no immediate solution. We have checked all browser High Contrast filters but all have the same issue. At the moment, the only way for the academic to read and provide intext comments is to download all papers. I'd love to hear if there are any suggested solutions from this group, or ability to escalate a web accessibility issue to Turnitin?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions

Emily Rutherford I am checking this out with our developers as the High Contrast filter isn’t something we support explicitly.

I'll update you when I have more information.

Many thanks Emily Rutherford for the case number. Our developers have suggested switching off the High Resolution mode on the report viewer as it uses a different way to view the report so might help with the problem. This is located at the bottom right of the screen. Please let me know if this is helpful.

    Hi Gill & Emily

I also have a colleague with the same problem. I've tested on a Mac, using Edge, and it worked as expected for the Mac. It didn't work on a Windows 10 machine, also using Edge. We're using Blackboard & the LTI 1.3 - all other aspects of TII work as expected.
Do you have an update at your end?

Emma Duke-Williams I'm struggling with this I'm afraid. I have spoken to one of our Product Managers who has confirmed what I said in my earlier message that this is not a feature we support, so unfortunately I have no further updates.

Please feel free to put a ticket in to Support to see if you are able to get any further forward.

Gill Rowell Thank you for getting back to me; I have to say that I'm disappointed to hear your response, given that ensuring accessibility of all aspects of a tool is something that we have to consider as we look at digital tools. I will be raising this as another support ticket - and also hoping that this significant accessibility issue will be tackled going forwards as Feedback studio is updated. As Emily notes, this seems to be a retrograde step, given that it did work before an update.
I can't find any information about this as a known issue on the website.

Emma Duke-Williams Thank you for your feedback. I will certainly pass this on.

Emma Duke-Williams Emily Rutherford I received a further update on this and it seems this might be something to do with the browser not inverting images and the good news is that there is a fix coming in the next week which may rectify this. Let me know if you are seeing any changes to this behaviour in the coming days.

Oh, that's super to hear! I've had an email back from Support, suggesting Dark Reader - which works fine ... unless you've got the High Contrast on for the computer generally, then it doesn't. :( However, if something's on its way, rather than fiddling around testing browsers, extensions & a lot of other stuff, I'll wait for a week or so.
