Kpilirui Mitey Perhaps a good first step is speaking to the instructor to see if you can get some clarity.

the turnitin administrator is a person within your school/institution.

We have the same problems. Apparently, someone offers a turnitin originality check and the students pay and then are surprised that their work was submitted in Pakistan.

We have asked several times for the original paper, but no reply has come.

I think Turnitin should seriously address such misuses.

I faced the same issue, but it makes no difference just inform the publisher/editor that its your own work. Removing from HEC repository is not possible and even if it is, how will people access it for further research source.

To all the users asking the question, speak to your institution about the misuse of your papers.

Thank you, but misuse did somebody from Pakistan, who has charged his activity, probably.

I think there is no way to remove it from the repository of Hec and this is very strange that we can not even publish our work due to this repository issue

I am sorry that we don't have a solution to offer. This problem appears to be larger than a single institution or Turnitin, even. Based on what others have posted, it appears that sometimes students are purchasing what they believe to be a Turnitin product and it creates this issue. We continually work to eliminate misuse as we can on our end, but unfortunately the reporting of papers to HEC is beyond our scope.
