What the h*ll happened to my inbox? Why can I only see 4 assignments at a time? Please tell me this will be fixed?

    Has there been a fix to this, because it's becoming unmanageable. Additionally, I find that I can no longer click on a students name to see all their assignments. This function was invaluable when students put their assignment in the wrong box. There are other major functional issues, but I badly need advice on this one right now.

      Sheila Wille I freaked too.  I was able to do this still through the student tab at the very top, but still not as nice as before.

    I have discovered a small "band-aid" for the problem.  If I put my screen in full-screen mode and shrink the font size by Zooming out I can see about 12 assignments at a time.  This is not a fix, but it is better than 3 at a time.  I too want the old view back.

      JILL ANN DENHAM I need to put two windows side by side and transfer grades from one window to another so full screen isnt an option. Plus, I like to see how many papers I have left to grade. It's hard to know who this change was supposed to serve.

    IS ANYONE ELSE HAVING A PROBLEM with importing assignments from one class into another? For some reason, the "libraries" function is now not showing the most recent assignments I've created when I try to copy them into other classes. I just... 😩🤷‍♀️

    Oh NOOOOOOOOOOO...what happened to the alphabetical order inside the assignment inbox?? Why is it suddenly organizing by FIRST name???? I can't find a way to change it back! It's proper by last name in the Students tab. But inside the assignment inboxes????

    You guys...what??? I can't use it like this. 

    I just...my third quarter grades are due Friday, and instead of making my life more manageable, Turnitin.com's update is adding HOURS to my process! I'm gonna cry.

      Roslynn Pryor I have spoken to our product manager and she said that you should create a ticket with support for the two issues you mentioned earlier. Email tiisupport@turnitin.com and share screenshots of the issues as possible.

      Further explanation of the alphabetical issue:

      • No longer are students displayed by last name. They're displayed by first name now. 
      • No longer are students organized/alphabetized by last name in the cases in which students have 3 names (which is literally 1/3 to 1/2 of my classes).
      • Students with the same last names are not then correctly alphabetized by first name as well. 

      This is a nightmare. Please put the alphabetization back to the way it was/the way it is on the Students tab. 

      Karen, I'll open a ticket after I get my 3Q grades finished and submitted. Where do I go to do that?

      Roslynn Pryor If you click on the word "Author" it will reorganize the names by last name!

      Sheila Wille But it's not their actual last name, in all cases. I have many students with 3 names, and it only alphabetizes by the last word that appears, even though they go by the second name (the first last name). Does that make sense? When it was organized by last name first, we didn't have this problem. Now the roster is all out of whack, which just keeps adding more time and tedium to the process.

      Roslynn Pryor Totally. I am having the same issue, just I have less of those students with two last names. I'm so sorry this is happening! It's very upsetting when that which was already difficult gets harder unexpectedly.

    YES!! The footer window is 3 times the size and we can't stretch the view window at all. GRRR.

    Additional problem. Students are disenrolling from the class at the end and their papers are disappearing. I can't write letters of rec for students without all the comments, and some schools want to see the revised papers as part of the application. We need those comments. People's college admissions packets are at stake here. @Karen_smith

      Sheila Wille Are the students dis-enrolling themselves or is this just happening randomly? If it is the latter, you should email tiisupport@turnitin.com to figure out what is happening. If it is the former, let me know and I'll check in with some people to see if there's a workaround.

      Karen Smith Two students came looking for letters and I went to look at the papers, which were missing, and they told me that they disenrolled themselves at that time. That's the evidence I have that it's not random.

    As of this afternoon, mine is fixed! The class view for an assignment has some of the new look of the update, but I can again see 15 students at a time with the ability to scroll down the rest of the way for a larger class. YAY!! Thank you, Karen, and all who worked on solving this problem!!

    Okay, huzzah! It's almost back to normal! Scrolling works and I can see 15 on an unshrunken screen now! Yayyyyyyy!!!!

     

    Now we just need to fix the alphabetization snafus and go back to last-name-first alpha order!

       I believe the only thing you can do is to click on "Author" to change the alphabetical - I don't believe that will help with your students with hyphenated last names, unfortunately.
