Straw man where?
I've heard the argument that students and teaching "haven't changed." If this is true (and I don't believe it is), what a shame! It seems to me that the entire premise of education is learning--learning how to interpret and grow and change by experiencing something new or different.
In today's digital world there is a lot of competition for that attention and growth. And because of the amount of information facing students daily (academic or not), it is important for students to be able to craft a logical argument and, conversely, be able to address others' arguments that may not be presented so logically.
While today's resource is all about identification of logical fallacies, this is only one part of a collection of resources surrounding the idea of argumentation with integrity. Understanding how arguments are logically and painstakingly crafted is an important way to prepare oneself for evaluating the arguments made by others.
