Everyone's a cheat! Right? Unethical and Immoral? Right?
OK! all rules, are created for the 4% or 5% that do the wrong thing. All the while 95% of pundits must comply regardless of cost and inconvenience. But hey, we don't like it, but we get it. Cheating is Unethical and Immoral? Right?
So now the teachers are cheating themselves out of job because AI has stepped in to take up the slack. Now we all expected to believe that technology is so pious that nothing can go wrong! Right? WRONG! Read my thesis on AI integrity before you trust human integrity.
Listed below are considerations and questions I would like to be addressed:
· Ethics and morality:
o What are the ethical and moral implications of using AI to assess student work?
o Are there any potential harms or unintended consequences?
· Transparency:
o How transparent is the use of AI in the assessment process?
o Are students aware that an AI system is assessing their work?
· Bias and fairness:
o How does the AI system ensure that assessments are fair and unbiased?
o Is there a risk of algorithmic bias based on factors such as gender, race, or socio-economic status?
· Accuracy and reliability:
o How accurate and reliable is the AI system in assessing student work?
o What is the margin of error, and how is it calculated?
· Training and validation:
o How was the AI system trained and validated?
o Were there any biases in the training data or validation process?
· Human oversight:
o Is there a human component to the assessment process, or is it fully automated?
o If there is human oversight, what is the role of the human in the assessment process?
o Is my teachers in line to be replaced by AI?
· Accountability:
o Who is responsible if the AI system makes an error in the assessment process.
o How can students challenge the assessment if they believe it to be incorrect?
· Use of data:
o How is the data collected and used by the AI system?
o Is the data secure and protected from misuse?
· Impact on learning:
o How does the use of AI in assessment impact student learning?
o Does it promote or hinder the development of critical thinking and analytical skills?
· Alternatives:
o What are the alternatives to using AI in assessment?
o Are there other methods that could be used that are more reliable or ethical?
I look forward to your considered response. This issue raises many legal complications that are yet to be tested in court.
