Preliminary pages similarity
Hey Team,
Usually, preliminary pages, especially in various University theses, tend to be very similar due to the students' guides that require certain information in a given way. I've noticed some people remove them from the main document when running the Turnitin similarity check - to reduce the score. Is this the right way? Is there any better way we can run the check with the whole document but still keep the score low?

Hi Augustine! To avoid this type of matches, removing preliminary pages is not necessary. Instead, you may try using Turnitin's template exclusion. I've once shared with you these guidelines, they explain how this could be done in more details. Additionally, you may want to make quotes and bibliography exclusions on the assignment level (before students will submit their works) in order not to do it manually on each checked submission. For more information, please check this page. Hope it helps!
