      Hi Laura!

Yes, the Turnitin LTI 1.3 integration should work with the Moodle Forum activity. You can find more details here: https://guides.turnitin.com/hc/en-us/articles/21210547141645-Feedback-Studio-with-Moodle-comparison-chart

      Hope this helps!

If teachers have already created assignments using the original Turnitin plugin will they need to recreate those assignments using the new integration?

Hi Laura! Thanks for your patience — just circling back on this.

Instructors don’t need to recreate their existing assignments when moving from the original Turnitin plugin to LTI 1.3. Instead, they can use the Assignment Copy tool to convert those assignments into LTI 1.3 format.

Even after the old plugin is removed from Moodle, instructors will still be able to access past submissions via the new Submission Search tool, which is planned to launch in late Fall 2025.

Here’s a helpful guide on how the Assignment Copy tool works.

      Hope this answer’s helpful!

In looking at "what integration are you using" ours is "Turnitin with Moodle Plagiarism/Integrity Plugin".  I believe this was the recommendation at the time when we started using Turnitin with Moodle. Does this support the new format or do we also need to switch to LTI 1.3? If we need to switch, will there be disruptions to our faculty or students with assignments already submitted or any change to workflow to access them?

Hi and thank you for reaching out to us! The new, enhanced Turnitin Feedback Studio experience as well as a full range of add-ons are available through the LTI 1.3 integration and via Turnitin.com (if you access it natively). If your institution is using Turnitin's Plagiarism Plugin in Moodle and you wish to explore LTI 1.3, both integrations can operate in the same Moodle environment concurrently without issue, which is great! So, no switch is required at this point. Here's a brochure to give you more details about the LTI 1.3 integration standard, support materials available and how to access Plagiarism Plugin and LTI 1.3 in Moodle (last page) https://view-su2.highspot.com/viewer/f34f215589110333bf32063d942e70b4#1.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

      Hope this helps!

Thank you so much! This is helpful, and to also know our current method will continue to work. The comparison chart is helpful. I am not certain if the benefits, right now, are worth any change but will continue to look into it.
