Join the International Day of Action against Contract Cheating

Wednesday 21 October is the 5th International Day of Action Against Contract Cheating led by the International Center for Academic Integrity. As more and more institutions turn to remote and hybrid models of teaching and learning the need for promoting academic integrity is as important as ever.

This is your opportunity to join Turnitin and hundreds of other institutions, educators and students around the globe to make a stand against contract cheating.

Here are 3 ways you can get involved:

1. Show your commitment. Sign your institution up here and download the Institutional Toolkit.

2. Engage you students in integrity-focused activities. Join the webinar with Dr Thomas Lancaster on Monday 21 September to hear about practical online activities to promote positive discussions around academic integrity.

3. Make your voice heard. Use the hashtags  #myownwork and #excelwithintegrity on social media on 21 October and join fellow educators and students in the global discussion.

Student initiatives around the International Day of Action are often the most powerful way to get the message across to other students that contract cheating is unacceptable. This year students are invited to design a piece of creative work on the theme of "My own work helps me excel with integrity". This could be "a video, poem, poster, song, drawing, painting or any other creative form of expression" (ICAI, 2020). Prizes will be awarded to the best entries. Further details can be found here.
