submission of different drafts

Hello,

Can someone answer this question please ?

I am teaching in an IBDP school where students submit their TOK essay to me. We are supposed to correct first draft of the essay and then the final draft and send the submission to IBO. I would like to put both the first draft and final draft through Turnitin for plagiarism and AI detection.

However my doubt is: if I put the first draft and then in case there was AI detection, I give that feedback to the student and he/she rewrites the essay. Then when I put the final draft again through Turnitin , will the first submission affect the second report. Or do I have to delete the first submission and then only put the final one ? If I have to delete the first one how do I do it. Or is there some setting by which the first one can be turned off or ignored ?

Please explain.

Warm regards

    Hi

Thanks for your question! If you’re reviewing both a first draft and a final draft, you can make sure the first draft doesn’t affect the Similarity Report for the final version by choosing not to store the first draft in Turnitin’s repository. You can do this by selecting “Do not store the submitted papers” in the assignment’s Optional Settings.

If the first draft has already been submitted and stored, you can request to have it removed.

If a setting is not visible to you, it may be because your institution’s license does not include that feature. If this is the case, we recommend reaching out to your Turnitin administrator to learn more about your institution’s license type.

Hope you find this answer helpful!
