Legacy workflows - and analytics via LTI 1.3
Apologies if this appears twice - I thought I'd posted it, but I can't see it :(
Having just read the news item about the removal of some legacy workflows, I've now got a few questions. We don't encourage staff to use the website (and this page makes it sound as if it's primarily for those using the website.
We do, however, encourage staff to use the Analytics in Classic Feedback studio (LTI 1.3).
I'm also investigating the new Feedback studio, however, the insights tab, as far as I can tell, seems to focus on rubric infomation, rather than all of the other data that's in the Analytics tab; our staff find things like the distribution of submissions, no of students reuploading & average time to look at feedback useful, as well as rubric usage breakdown. I can't find any help guides outlining what's in that Insights tab. (May be my poor searching skills ...)
I do, however, have a couple of questions.
- Will the data in the analytics tab we're used to having access to disappear in mid August?
- What data does/will the insights tab in New Feedback studio contain?

Hi there, Apologies for the delayed response here, and thank you for your patience while we checked with our team. Here’s the update we received from our team about your question:
1. Legacy Class-Level Analytics (Deprecating in August)
The class-level analytics scheduled for deprecation in August only apply to the Turnitin website workflows (i.e. logging directly into Turnitinuk.com). This is part of our broader sunsetting of legacy website features. For more details on what is changing, please review the Legacy Workflow Deprecation FAQ.
2. LTI 1.3 Analytics Dashboard (Not Affected)
The analytics dashboard I believe you are referring to is our LTI 1.3 Analytics Dashboard. This feature is not being deprecated. However, please note that this dashboard is exclusively available through an LMS integration (like Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, etc.) and is not accessible via the native website workflow.
Summary: If you are accessing Turnitin only through your LMS integration (LTI 1.3), your analytics dashboard is safe and will not be impacted by the August deprecation.
Currently the insights tab gives data on rubric scoring per submission. While additional assignment-level insights are not on the immediate roadmap, we’ll be sure to share any updates with the community as they become available.- Kat, Turnitin Team
