Audio and Video Comments coming soon to Turnitin Feedback Studio

You’ve asked, and we’ve listened. We’re excited to announce that Audio and Video Comments are coming soon to Turnitin Feedback Studio!

This new update brings new ways to give feedback directly within the grading workspace. Instructors will soon be able to record spoken or video comments from the Summary tab, making it easier to share clearer, more personal, and more nuanced feedback with students.

This is designed to help instructors:

  • Spend less time typing

  • Share more natural, conversational feedback

  • Reintroduce the voice and tone that help students better understand guidance

That's a great new feature - do you know if it will produce subtitles and/or transcript of what is being recorded?

Will this apply to LMS integrations using LTI 1.3 and available within the Classic Standard Assignment?

      Hi there,

Audio and video comments are available in the new standard assignment type. To use this feature, you’ll need to be using an LTI 1.3 integration or accessing Turnitin Feedback Studio directly. Hope this answer helps!

Hi   this is great, will be very useful, any update as to release date?

Important that there are captions - will the transcript of audio be included in the feedback PDF download?

Also, when recording video, is there an option to record the screen instead of the webcam?

I'm also hoping that screen recording will be possible - while it can be nice for students to "see" you, it's also really important, sometimes from a feedback point of view, to highlight a section of work and to talk to it - much as you might if you had the student in the office with you & the essay on the desk.
