Greater Visibility for Student Late Status

Hi,

My institution uses the LTI 1.3 Turnitin integration with Canvas LMS. Currently, on the list of student submissions, Turnitin will indicate if a student's submission was late. However, once I click on a submission and enter the new grading environment, there is nowhere on the page that indicates whether a student submission is late. This requires the grader to have at least two tabs open to be able to grade students properly. It would be great if Turnitin would add within the new grading environment a place that indicates whether a student submission was late (and how late it was).

    Hi  and thank you for bringing this to our attention. We’d recommend checking your Canvas settings for the course and your account, as that is what we pull from. You can set the course to Eastern Time if you need deadlines to show for that zone, and set your personal Canvas account to CST. In that case, it should show both time zones. Hope this helps🙂

       , thank you. Is your comment in reference to my other feature request (the one about time zone management)? My feature request about the student late status concerns not the time zone of the student late status but that the late status is not visible inside the new grading environment.

       yes, my bad, this comment relates to your other question about time zones. As for the suggestion about late student status, it is definitely a good suggestion; I've passed it along to our Product team for consideration. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, it's valuable!

       no worries. I checked, and it appears that both my course and account Canvas settings are set to EST. However, Turnitin is displaying times in CST (if I set an assignment to be due at 11:59 pm in Turnitin, it will display as 12:59 am in Canvas assignment settings). Do you know what may be happening there? I appreciate your help!
