Everything you've ever wanted to know about "Where to Next?" feedback ...
Happy Wednesday, everyone!
Today I'm sharing a resource that you may already be familiar with: Turnitin's whitepaper discussing our research with Dr. John Hattie on "Where to Next?" feedback. Still free, but unlike all the others I've shared to date, this one requires you to fill out a form to download it. Take the time! I promise you that it's worth it to learn about this most impactful form of feedback.
"Where to Next?" feedback is formative in nature; is timely, relevant, and actionable; and suggests (rather than tells) a direction for students to go next, when revising their papers. The whitepaper shares a template and discusses how the elements work together in order for feedback to have maximum impact.
Let me know what you're thinking once you've had a chance to review the whitepaper. And yes, it takes time, but A) the results are worth it and B) using the grading and feedback tools in your Turnitin solution can save some of that time. Quickmarks, anyone?
