Electronic marking and feedback

Has anyone tried marking in GradeMark/Feedback Studio?  What was the context in which you used it?  What were your experiences of electronic marking, and how did the students respond?  I've used GradeMark and Feedback Studio to provide feedback on a range of different pieces of work and students have always responded very positively but I'd be interested to hear about your experiences.

  • Greetings Alison

Thank you very much for sharing that. I did not yet try that option myself, so it is pretty encouraging to hear this. I will try it this semester then.

  • Hi Alison,

Turnitin is well established at Croydon College/UCC and the marking features are used heavily. Context wise, we use this at both HE and FE level for coursework submission. Our experiences have been fantastic and it's popular with the students. To help support submission at institutional level, I've written a few plugins for our College systems enabling us to provide swift assistance where needed, extend tracking (Turnitin tracking at course(s) level instead of via a single assignment) and for integration with other systems.

      Hi Andrew

I'm interested in the plug ins you mentioned.  Could you say more about what they do, or is there more information already out there somewhere?

      Thanks

      Alison

  • Alison Graham We have a major EMA programme underway at Reading. There are some case studies from academics at http://www.reading.ac.uk/internal/ema/ema-case-studies.aspx

These relate to the use of Turnitin:

    Professor Andrew Wade

    Dr Geoff Taggart

    Robert Playfair

Andy Turner Thank you for sharing Andy.  Our department is currently looking at best practice for managing electronic assessment so this is a really useful resource!
