Student guides for New Standard Feedback Studio.
Hello
I'm starting to ensure that we have sufficient guides for students using the New Standard Feedback studio, and have found a few glitches.
- In https://guides.turnitin.com/hc/en-us/articles/34876874513421-Next-Generation-of-Turnitin-Feedback-Studio-Resource-Center some of the guides - in particular the vidbits, refer back to Classic Feedback studio.
- Match groups
- In https://guides.turnitin.com/hc/en-us/articles/25042947311757-Student-overview-of-the-new-Similarity-Report-experience -the sample used doesn't have anything other than "not cited or quoted" - it would be useful to have something.
- https://view-su2.highspot.com/viewer/2b3ee54e72a6f1b0264183c35dd510cc#1 does have items in the other match groups, but, it's not easy to locate those images for students.
- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oI-TrsyJvo4 - this is a long video by student standards; and the similarity report is right at the end. I like, and think valuable, the introduction for types of similarity, and I can see this working well to be used in class & paused for discussion etc. When we get to the similarity report, it's good, and has examples of different match groups, but I can see students watching this alone zoning out.
- https://view-su2.highspot.com/viewer/2b3ee54e72a6f1b0264183c35dd510cc#1 is super - and would be good for students, if it didn't have the flags/AI reports that are staff focussed. I also think the factual popups (as compared to the 'story' approach of Amy in the video is good) for users working their way through it. Could we have the same as this (ideally, the same piece of work) but for students (it would also be useful to point staff to, so they'd know what students get to see)
- Draft Coach vs New Enhanced Similarity report. There is currently no overview of the similarities & differences between the Enhanced similarity report & Draft Coaches similarity report. A page outlining the key differences woud be v. useful. There are also some features in DC that may be useful in the main similarity report e.g.
- DC highliights which referencing systems are being picked up
- DC includes the "reference but not cited" - as an (now ex, admiitteldy) academic who marked student work, it is often useful to see what students have put in the reference list, without it appearing in the main body.
I thinks that's all - am going to post now having already lost the draft once by inadvertently closing the wrong tab :(
