I want Guidance on Originality Scores & Preventing Unintentional Plagiarism

Hello everyone🙂

I am currently working on improving the originality of my academic papers & I have some questions about best practices for reducing the similarity index on Turnitin; I constantly aim to generate unique content But sometimes, even with my best efforts, turnitin reports give me lower originality scores.

I have some queries please check this:👉

  • How should I handle citations and direct quotations to ensure they don't inflate my similarity score?
  •  What is some paraphrase methods that guarantee the preservation of the original meaning while avoiding similarity matches?
  • How should I appropriately use quotations to uphold academic integrity when paraphrasing is not an option?
  •  What resources or tools would you recommend for checking originality before submitting to Turnitin?

Also I have check this-  Alteryx  but I have no found solution.
I want to learn from your experiences and  suggestion and any inside it would be appreciate.

Thank you in advance for your help.😊

Best regards,

Nicomani

    Hi

I have some thoughts to share, but I'll wait until after other users have had an opportunity to respond.

    Hi

    • Some content can be excluded by the instructor. See our help notes on this topic.
    • In terms of paraphrasing, I'd suggest you take a look at our resources on Paraphrasing. They are free and many can be adapted for your use.
    • You may find some answers in the paraphrasing pack I linked above, but also, you may want to consider reviewing some of our Disrupting Plagiarism resources. For specific info on quotations, you may want to try something like OWL at Purdue.
    • One of the main purposes of Turnitin's solutions is to check for originality so I really wouldn't advise others. If used formatively, lessons on how to avoid certain issues can be addressed before a final submission.

    I hope these help!
