Students in class disappeared

Hoping someone can help me - I had my students set up an account and gave them the class code and the enrollment code. They submitted their first piece of writing. I graded it, and then I decided to add the co-teacher. When I did that, it created a Master Class with a section, but my students, their writings, and my comments are gone. Is there a way to get this data back?
