Standard (new) assignment does not show up in gradebook (no column)

Existing problem: I created a standard (new) assignment, students uploaded their submissions, TA has graded them, but students cannot see the grade or feedback. The assignment also does not appear in the gradebook.

A 2nd assignment (classic) DOES show up in the gradebook, but since that one is in progress I can't report on whether students can see feedback.

How can I fix this?

On-going: The user experience with Turnitin is awful. That's true on both the student and instructor ends. You really need to do better if you want continued business.

On-going: Turnitin has a dreadful lack of technical support available.  Searching for guidance to a problem leads you to documents that tell you about the features of the interface: 'Click submit to submit'.  That is not helpful information for intelligent customers!

    Hi  -

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience so clearly; we completely understand how frustrating it is when grades and feedback aren’t visible as expected. You’ve highlighted an important issue that our Product team is already working to improve.

For the new standard assignment, grades and feedback become visible to students after the feedback release date (it can take a few minutes for this to sync). Currently, new standard assignments don’t appear in the native gradebook, though our team is actively developing a gradebook view specifically for this assignment type. Once released, both classic and new standard assignments will have gradebook visibility.

With regards to assignments appearing in the gradebook, one workaround is downloading the assignment data, then copying and pasting that information into the SIS.

We also want to acknowledge your feedback about user experience and support resources. It’s very helpful to hear where you’re running into friction — beyond the gradebook issue — so we can make meaningful improvements. If you’re open to sharing a few specific examples of what feels most difficult for you or your students, I can send them to our Product team to review them directly.

In the meantime, if this continues to block your workflow, you can also open a Support ticket so the team can take a closer look at your specific setup.

We truly appreciate your patience and honesty as we work to make the new experience more intuitive and reliable for everyone.

    — Audrey, Turnitin Team
