How long does it take to generate a similarity report?
Yesterday I uploaded 4 student assignments to a course in Turnitin.com. How long does it take to generate a similarity report?

Hi Paul!
Thanks for your question! Similarity Reports in Turnitin are usually generated within minutes, but there are a few reasons why a report might be delayed:Assignment settings: Some instructors choose to generate reports only on the assignment due date, or may restrict student access to reports entirely. You may want to check with your instructor to confirm the settings for this assignment.
File type: Turnitin does not generate Similarity Reports for certain file types, such as password-protected files, scanned PDFs, files with visual effects, or specific formats like .docm, .wps, or Apple Pages. Make sure your file meets Turnitin’s supported file requirements.
Resubmissions: If your submission is a resubmission and you've already submitted more than three times, Turnitin will delay the Similarity Report by 24 hours.
File readability: If your file is a PDF, ensure it contains highlightable text. Scanned images or text embedded in visual effects can prevent Turnitin from extracting the content.
System issues: Occasionally, service outages can delay report generation. You can check Turnitin’s system status page for any ongoing disruptions.
If none of these seem to apply and it's been more than 24 hours, we recommend reaching out to your instructor or support team for further help. - Kat, Turnitin Team
