Writing process counts; Choosing and refining a topic
Time and time again, educators are being advised that process is as important as product, both from the student point of view and that of the educator. But what happens when the instruction in how to teach writing process has been lacking in an educator's training? When one of the key elements of Turnitin Clarity focuses on insight into the student writing process, this becomes essential knowledge.
This question has been plaguing me for a while now. While I had many good teachers, this wasn't really addressed for me. My teachers made an assignment and I wrote it. If this sounds familiar to you, then this resource is for you. It didn't take me long in the classroom to realize that my students needed more than an assignment to be able to address it fully.
This slide deck is for presentation to students and is part of our Argumentation with Integrity resource pack. While the focus is on argumentation, many of the steps and guidance can be adapted for other writing genres. This deck is the first of four lessons designed to do some of the heavy lifting for you.
