Removing old Rubrics
Hi folks, I have been new to the whole rubrics thing and have been setting up test rubrics so I can familiarise myself with it all. Only thing is, we use Canvas in our college and when I go to attach a rubric I can never find the one I want as I have numerous rubrics that are of no use and I would like to delete. Any ideas??

I have been asking for this option (to delete old/outdated rubrics) at least one a year, for the last eight years.
I have over 75 old rubrics on my list. More than half of them are for a prep that I no longer teach - and haven't for five years now. I've posted this exact topic/complaint on so many Turnitin.com support pages. Turnitin.com has transitioned through at least three support forum versions ... this is the third iteration for me.
Back when it was on Roadmap there were thousands of comments and requests for this feature. But then you all move to a new forum and we lose all of that momentum.
Staring rubrics - which rarely works in my case - doesn't do anything to organize them. I still have to scroll through them all ... just looking for a star now.
It is extremely frustrating that the "Product Managers" continue to ignore this request that teachers have been pleading for, for years.

I'd like to echo the general sentiment of frustration expressed in this thread. Gill Rowell would it be possible for you to outline for us the obstacles to updating the interface? It seems like there is something that is preventing that change from being implemented. Is it just that the resources are being expended elsewhere? Has the product management team given up on that project?

I agree that it's an update that's long overdue. However, I can also see why there could be potential issues deleting/ editing older rubrics that have been used, as older comments may then not make sense.
I'd also agree that it's a pain if you test them a lot. However, in the same way that we can hide certain sets of quick marks, would be useful if we could do that too, both for those that are ours & no longer needed & the default ones that you've supplied. [For the latter, it could be handy if we could hide them as administrators, for those that aren't relevant for most staff e.g. the US school focussed ones) -

Hello Gill , I would like to add my voice to those asking for the option to delete or hide old rubrics. It's making it very difficult to use Tii at this point as I have used so many rubrics over the years. Thank you

Gill Rowell - Yes this issue has been referred to product managers for many years, and I recall about a year or two ago someone saying it was going to be implemented then it didn't happen.
Clearly there are some underlying reasons for this. It would be much better for a clear explanation to be provided on a place on the website where it is easy to find.
Even better would be an actual solution to the problem though. Thanks :)

Gill Rowell With all due respect, you have been saying the same thing in response to all the posts, giving the assurance that something will be done real soon. After so many months, nothing has changed and I am still stuck with a long list of rubrics I have created over the years, many of which I don't even use.

Gill Rowell Respectfully Gill, the discussion here has been going on for months. I am sure the product team will be able to read all the feedback posted here. What more information do they need? It is time to act on it and come up with a solution and not spend another few months listening to us ranting our frustrations.

I really feel it is a waste of time harping on this topic. Gill Rowell you have been giving us standard replies with no solution. We might as well close this forum. We are still not able to delete or archive the old rubrics. I now have more than 20 rubrics created, many of which I don't even use. If Turnitin is not able to find a solution, at least let us know so we don't have to keep coming back to this forum, hoping for an update. This is really disappointing.

A recent quote from a message one of the teachers at my school sent sums up their frustration on exactly this point:
"I Googled it and found a LOT of people complaining about this very thing! Some said they'd been using TurnItIn for years and had accumulated a lot of rubrics they no longer use.
Another problem: rubrics can't be edited once used. This is frustrating because once I've used a rubric, I sometimes find the language needs to be tweaked and I can't do it. I have to start all over with a whole new rubric."
So add my voice, and the voices of my fellow teachers, to the chorus calling for this functionality to be implemented as soon as possible!

Many thanks all, and yes, I hear your frustrations. I can assure you that I am doing my very best to ensure your voices are heard and that this translates into action on behalf of our product team.

Still unable to delete old rubrics or remove them from the current drop down menu. It is also difficult, if not impossible to share rubrics with my colleagues. This should really be addressed.
